type

The type: metadata field should denote a specific kind of note, that has a distinct structure / expectation of other associated metadata. Not all notes need types (or one could say the default type is "note")

For example, in my personal vault, the type: seed notes have information about seeds that I plant in the garden, eg their catalog number, where they were purchased, germination time, etc. While type: plant notes should have information about the care of the plant the seed will grow into - how much sun does it need, whether it's ornamental or for food, etc.

Some examples of note types (see Types for more info)

sub-types

Sub-typing should be handled by tags. Eg a type: plant might have a #perenial tag or an #annual tag.
